IMG_47331Hello Healthy Friends!  Well, if you are just joining this dialog, you may want to go back to the beginning for my opening comments about buying organic and why it is safer for you and your family, but for those of you who have been with me on this money saving journey, here are 3 other ways to keep that hard-earned money in your pocket!

4. Online Coupons
You don’t have to go searching your Sunday paper with your scissors in hand to clip coupons – unless you just want to. There are great online resources like http://www.organicfoodcoupons.com and http://www.ecobunga.com as well as your own favorite store websites which provide many ways to save money on organic foods. They all have electronic coupons. Never pay retail again!

5. Warehouse Shopping
Warehouse discount clubs have long been appreciated by the public for saving money on bulk items like paper towels and toilet tissue, but now (thankfully) you can add organic items to that list!  Costco and BJ’s are just two examples of warehouse stores that carry organic foods, such as meats, produce, dairy and eggs, and a great selection of frozen fruits and veggies.  Chances are you probably already have a membership to one of these clubs. If you don’t, you can get twice the value for half the price by splitting the membership with a friend or family member. Another option is to go shopping with someone who has a membership. When you’ve finished shopping, give the person with the membership the money for your portion of the groceries! (Don’t forget this step, or it is likely the last time that you will shop with them!  However, it occurs to me, if you have enough friends with memberships, you could actually do this and save much more money!  Ha!  Joking.  Okay? It’s a joke!)  If you live in a part of the country with a Super Walmart, be sure to check out their organic food and produce sections as well.  The only thing that I have found with warehouse food, is that it doesn’t seem to last as long.  The produce may be traveling from afar off – and then by the time it arrives in the store, it may be at the tail end of its freshness.  I stick with the frozen, jars, bottles, and boxes and save the fresh produce my other favorite spots!

6. Buy in Bulk Online
Buying meats in bulk is not something you only have to do at the farm; you can also buy bulk quality meats online. Buying online allows you to split the costs of the food with your friends and neighbors, and have the meat delivered directly to you. This is a great option if you’re busy and don’t have time to drive to your nearest farm. Vital Choice Wild Seafood and Organics is my favorite for one-stop-shopping delivered to your door. This link is your connection to health, fresh, mercury tested wild-caught seafood and organic meats.  I am an affiliate with Vital Choice, because I recommend them so much!  Here is my link, http://www.vitalchoice.com/shop/pc/viewContent.asp?idpage=232&idaffiliate=3711
