Now Save Rule #2. Stop complaining about how much more expensive organic food is than conventional! I get tired of hearing it. Be frugal in other areas – how about the cable, your new smart phone, your monthly payment on your new furniture. Sorry if I am hitting too close to home with this post, but come on! What we should complain about is the disgusting food we get for cheaper and the fact that it is not even real food – half the time. Step up to that cash register proudly and pay for real, healthy, certified organic food, and shut up! You only get one body. It only takes food as fuel. It won’t run on wine. It won’t run on chips. It won’t run on ice cream. Your body is trying hard to stay alive – whose side are you on? Give it the fuel that it requires and it will treat you well for a very long time. You’ve heard that “life is short” well, how about not making it shorter, and if you do live long, don’t you want to live strong . . . right up until the last breath? I do. That is why my facebook page is Live Love and Strong. I am going to die one day, but I am going kicking and screaming . . . working on living long and strong until God is done with me! Are you with me?
2. Make More Delicious Meals at Home; Eat Out Less
Another easy way to save money is to make more of your meals at home. This includes lunches. On Sunday, set aside a few hours to cook your food for the week. Make about 6-8 simple meals, wrap them well and freeze them. Multiple meals allow you to rotate your meals, so you don’t have to keep eating the same foods over and over again. Reward yourself by going out to dinner at your favorite restaurant at the end of the month, and bank the remainder of the money that you’ve saved.
