There’s nothing better than fresh picked berries! It’s also lots of fun for the kids to actually visit the farm to pick them and there’s nothing more healthy! You know how I feel about this so I won’t go on with the Phytonutrients, antioxidants, polyphenols of these wonderful tasty treats.
Below is a list of farms in “road trip” driving distance of our area here in Georgia. (Sorry the rest of you will have to figure this out on your own!) You can find more information about harvest dates or about pick-your-own farms at www.pickyourown.org.
Pick one or try them all and enjoy the fun time with your family! As a bonus, check out books from the library with a similar theme and/or look up kid-friendly recipes to try with your healthykids!!! “Blueberries for Sal” is a kid favorite.
Make sure to call ahead to confirm your visit, as farms often have to change their schedules depending on the weather and harvest.
