Health coaching and product integration can be a match made in heaven if you are careful and wise about presenting your love for a product while health coaching or leading a workshop. Your clients are looking for something, and nearly everyone is eating bars and shakes so why not the best bars and shake that I can recommend whole-heartedly? Therefore combining the two “loves” in an appropriate way is a lesson I learned early so please pay attention when I say . . . IF YOU OFFER A PRODUCT OF ANY KIND it is extremely important that you know the right way to integrate the presentation of your product with your clients/students. If you stay within your scope of practice and your ethics agreement and you will be successful at both, but if you do not it will quickly become a recipe for disaster.

I happen to be a massive fan of Juice Plus fruits, vegetables, berries, nutrition bars, complete protein shakes, and the Tower Garden (I have 3 of them).  I and my whole family have used these now for nearly 10 years. I thoroughly researched them myself before ever putting them in my mouth, or the mouths of my loved ones!  I love science and research.  The true science and vast research completed on Juice Plus over its 25 years on the market is the best of the best.  It is “The Most Thoroughly Researched Product in the World.” (Just ask Siri) You’d be hard-pressed to convince me otherwise. BUT, I also LOVE being a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that hard-earned certification or the trust of my clients and students.

As a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, my code of ethics requires me to disclose the fact that I am compensated for the sale of certain products.  (Which is silly, because who gives products away for free?) My clients love my “Smart Shopping” trips at Whole Foods Market, but WFM doesn’t compensate me for all the food purchased by my clients there!  In fact, they don’t even send me a Thank You, but I recommend them because the foods that I feel are the most healthy are found within their store, and they have the biggest selection of items in each category, therefore my clients can get everything they need in one place at one time while I am with them. They love it, I love it, and I am quite sure WFM loves it too.  We are all happy because we are all getting what we love.  I feel the same way about my love for my product, my love for my business, and my love for my clients.

Successful product integration is key to a winning partnership and can help your bottom line IF you know where, when, and how to integrate it into your practice, but it can sink both ships, leave you stranded, and your clients upset and confused if you do not!

You are a wellness professional. No matter where you got your certification or what certification you have, it is the most valuable credential you possess. Your wellness coaching is the greatest service you offer, yet supplementing your coaching income with a partner product you believe in, is helpful to your bottom line.
